Bourton Rovers 0-3
Brockworth
Bourton entertained fellow strugglers Brockworth on Saturday and yet
again lost after another poor 1st half showing.
The Gloucester side took the lead on 10 minutes when a cross into the box went straight threw the hands of keeper Vic Burrell and left the Brockworth striker with a simple tap in, it was 2-0 shortly after when a free kick was converted from 20 yards out. Bourton created only one chance in the 1st half when a cross field pass from Mark Payne was flicked on by Graham Newhook which put James Mills clear but he fired over the bar when he should of hit the target.
Bourton were the better side in the second half and went close on numerous occasions, David Gainford firing wide from distance and Matty Winter volleying just wide from 25 yards, with Bourton pushing more players on Brockworth caught the home side on the counter attack and made it 3-0 when the visiting striker had a free run at goal and he made no mistake, with 15 minutes left both teams were reduced to 10 men after a hand bag incident off the ball which saw Payne for Bourton see red. Bourton nearly got a consolation in the last minute when Gainford crossed and Winter connected perfectly with another volley but somehow the keeper managed to keep the ball out of the net.
This defeat leaves Rovers in deep relegation
trouble and it doesn't get any easier, on Saturday they travel to
league favourites Slimbridge.
