After 7 games without defeat Bourton came down to earth with a bump with the visitors dominating the match from start to finish.

With Cleeve's pitch unplayable the game was switched to Rissington Road and Bourton got of to the worst possible start with Cleeve taking the lead in 30 seconds when a left wing cross was volleyed home by Lloyd Arkell.  It was 2-0 on 8 minutes when the visitors were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box and Jamie Hammond curled the ball round the wall and into the bottom corner past Andy Herbert.  Rovers did have a 10 min spell when Dave Davanzo, in for the injured Anders Harvey, delivered some superb crosses into the box but they just couldn't find a Bourton head. Keelan Gilbert nearly pulled one back but after getting into a great position he totally missed the ball and the chance went begging, Gary Clark headed over after a corner and Rovers should of been awarded a penalty when Matt Winter was tripped in the box but the ref didn't see it and Rovers went in 2-0 down at the break.

The second half started just as badly as the 1st when a long through ball caught  Herbert in no mans land and Hammond nipped in to lob him for his second goal of the match and give Cleeve a 3-0 lead after 55 minutes.

Rovers did get a goal back on 70 minutes when Stuart  Hughes blasted a free kick  from 20 yards into the top corner.   With Bourton now pushing men on to try to get something out of the game it was Cleeve who broke away to get their 4th of the afternoon when yet  again it was Hammond who this time waltzed round Ben Acock, Clark, Gilbert and then Herbert to roll the ball in for his hat-trick.

Rovers could of scored a late consolation when Kevin Hunt was fouled in the box but Winter saw his well hit penalty saved by the Cleeve keeper and bounce to safety which summed up Bourton's day.

Rovers next league game is on 30th December when they travel to Sharpness.

On Boxing Day Bourton have their annual under 30's versus over 30's match starting at 10-30am at Rissington Road.
