Huntley 1-3 Bourton Rovers

Bourton continued their good start to the season with a convincing victory in the Forest of Dean despite missing the services of 5 players from the previous week, Mark Hamilton, Keelan Gilbert, Mark Gainford, Adrian Habbitts and Ben Acock due to injuries and illness, Bourton called up Jimmy Luney and Ryan Newhook for their first starts of the season and Kevin Hunt, David Davanzo and Willie Arkell being promoted from the subs bench.

The foresters started of strongly putting the make shift defence of Bourton, with top scorers Matt Winter and Mark Payne drafted into the back four, under pressure but they never tested Andy Herbert in the Rovers goal.  It was the Cotswold team who had the first real chance when a Devanzo cross found captain Stuart Hughes unmarked at the back post but he headed straight into the keepers hands.

Rovers did take the lead on 25 minutes when Hunt's cross was turned into his own net by Huntley's centre back it was 2-0 3 minutes later when  a superb run by Duncan Habbitts found Davanzo who drilled home from 15 yards.  Just before half time it was nearly three when Habbitts had a header tipped over the bar by the home keeper.

The second half started the same as the first with Huntley pressurising the visitors defence but the Rovers back four held strong and it was Rovers who got the third when a back pass by a Huntley defender confused the Foresters keeper who just parried it to Hunt and he fired it in from 2 yards out.  Huntley pulled a goal back with 10 minutes left when Payne dallied on the ball on the edge of the box when he should of cleared and the Home striker took it of him and smashed home.

It was a nervy last few minutes for Bourton but they held on to register the 3 points and continue their unbeaten league start to the season.

This week Bourton entertain Kingswood.
