Bourton Rovers 1-2 Tetbury Town

Bourton entertained their bogey side Tetbury on Saturday missing three key players prolific striker Matt Winter due to illness at the last minute, Duncan Habbitts with a head injury and skipper Ben Acock who was whisked of to Rome for a romantic for a romantic weekend. Rovers started the stonger of the 2 sides and deservedly took the lead on 15 minutes when the excellent Chris Mills found himself one on one with the keeper only to be fouled in the penalty area by the last Tetbury defender, the lady referee pointed to the spot but amazingly failed to send the defender off. Ryan Newhook convincingly stuck the penalty home.
Tetbury got back into the game and drew level just before half time when Gary Clark gave a penalty away after a foul and the Tetbury striker made no mistake although keeper Andy Herbert got a hand to it.

In the second half Bourton thought they had taken the lead when the recalled Mark Payne fired home but the visiting linesman ruled him offside when clearly he was at least 4 yards on.  Both teams lost their discipline after this and the lady in black lost control, with cards being thrown around left right and centre and to wrap her afternoon up she awarded Tetbury another penalty when Rovers full back Timmy Hudson clearly tackled the visiting striker in the box but unfortunately she saw it from a different angle and pointed to the spot.  Justice was done though because the penalty was blasted over the bar, but Tetbury got the winner with 10 minutes left after a goal mouth scramble to leave Rovers very frustrated in a game they should of won but more disappointed with some of the officials decisions which cost them 3 points and their 1st win against Tetbury in 5 attempts.
