Bourton Rovers 4-0 Viney St Swithens

Bourton entertained bottom of the table Forest of Dean side Viney on Saturday desperate for a victory after three 2-1 defeats on the bounce.

Matt Winter and Ben Acock were back in the side after illness at the expense of Mark Payne and Keelan Gilbert and it was Winter who should of put Rovers one up after 5 minutes when a superb run and cross by Chris Mills found his strike partner who dragged his shot wide from 6 yards.   Bourton were dominating and Viney rarely got out of their own half and it was only matter of time before the home side would score, but Rovers struggled to hit the target with Mills rolling a shot wide of the post when the goal was at his mercy, Graham Newhook blasting over on several occasions and his brother Ryan also missing the target when well placed.   Bourton finally got the goal they deserved on 35 minutes when a cross from G.Newhook found the head of centre back Anders Harvey who calmly nodded the ball past the Foresters keeper for his first goal of the season.   Dave Davanzo should of made it 2 just before the break but he drilled wide with only the keeper to beat.

The second half continued in the same fashion with Rovers still camped in the visitors half but they kept missing chance after chance with the nearly every member of the team having a effort at some stage but the game changed when Winter went of with a head injury to be replaced by Payne and it was Payne who doubled the lead on 70 minutes when he tapped home from a Davanzo cross and 5 minutes later he got his 2nd when fellow sub Kevin Hunt set him up and Payne duly tucked it home from 6 yards.   Viney had their 1st chance of the game with a couple of minutes left but Andy Herbert a spectator for most of the game pulled of a fantastic save and Bourton went up the other end and made it 4 and it was Payne again who put the ball in the net after a goal mouth scramble to complete his hat-trick and keep Rovers in the top half of the table.
